About the Ormidale hotel

The hotel is a splendid Victorian building, built in the 1850’s as the summer house of the painter Herring and his adopted daughter Jeannie, an authoress and London socialite, who in turn married the sculptor John Adams Acton. The building was converted to a hotel in 1935 when it was bought by the present owners grandparents.

The Isle of Arran is on the West Coast of Scotland.  The most accessible Scottish Island known as Scotland in miniature.

The Ormidale hotel is a 15 min walk from the Brodick ferry terminal. Lots of activities are easily accessible from the Ormidale. The pub attracts all ages to the regular weekend discos and mid week quiz nights.
